Quadrant

A quarter of a circle. Usually refers to decorative timber joinery mouldings with this cross section.

Queen Post Truss

A traditional form of timber truss found in older buildings with two off-centre vertical posts, struts and collars. The Queen Post truss can achieve much larger spans than a 'King Post' truss and therefore enabled rooms to be formed in the roof space.

Quoin

Decorative detail provided to the corner of a building, usually formed in brick, stone or render.
